DCC Reverse Loop Module

I'm after recommendations for a DCC reverse loop module to work with a Z21 system. I was looking at the Roco 10797 module, but it works out quite expensive at around £90.

I would look at either the PSX AR or the Tam Valley Dual Frog Juicer.

Thanks Brian. Like the look of them especially the price :D

Any NMRA compliant RLM unit should work with any DCC setup.
Some booster units also act as RLMs e.g. Hornby Power and Signsl Booster.

Thanks for the advice about the RLM. As a follow up if I had a fiddle yard coming off the return loop as in the image how would I wire and power that?

Is only the short track between the linking points of the loop which need isolating and wired up to the reversing module.

Be a little cautious.... A reverse loop controlled by a conventional auto RLM should be longer between the entrance IRJ pair and exit IRJ pair than the longest train to travel over that section. Train is loco and all wagons or carriages. (IRJ is Insulated Rail Joiners)
Your short track may not be sufficiently long?

Your fiddle yard can be wired conventionally and then place the entrance and exit IRJs on the larger loop section, so as one pair is just before the top point of the loop and the other pair immediately after the yard entrance point. The track section between the IRJs must only have the feed from the RLM output on its rails

Using you're drawing the four IRJs are shown by red lines cutting across the track and the blue is the whole reverse loop.

Thanks Brian. The blue section you've indicated there is 125 inches long so hopefully will accommodate my longest train. I will do some checking to make sure though.

If the longest train is greater that 125 inches, then extend the IRJs back to each route from the loops main point and also extend it into the fiddle yard where two more IRJs are then fitted. Making a total of 6 IRJs and all Blue rails are feed solely from the output of the RLM.

A cunning plan :D Thanks again Brian
