A Year of Travelling

My good Lady said, "Let's travel the world. We have talked about it many times."
We have cruised around the world previously; this journey would be over land too.
Meet my American family and some friends.
Family in Australia to see.
Then there are things on our 'bucket list'.
Travel 'The Canadian'.
Travel on the 'Indian Pacific'.
Visit South Africa
No aircraft travel. Ships are a must.
Before all that, we have been invited to Italy by dear friends we have known for nearly fifty years.
We are now in Rome.

A quick visit to Civitavecchia Railway Station
No more pictures of trains for a little while. Our main love is the sea.

Love this scene last night. Rather cold to us, but a hardy couple are oblivious to it.
We have heard from the local shipping agent that our ship arrives tomorrow.

Good evening all. We are still in Italy. Our good ship, MSC Abidjan will (hopefully) have a full load of containers.. The cut off time is midnight tomorrow, then we sail to Northern Europe. There we will transfer to MSC Nerissa to the USA.
At the end of March we travel on MSC Sofia, then MSC Durban to Australia.

You remind me of "Uncle Travelling Matt" from Fraggle Rock in the travelling across the world to explore what's beyond our own area of where we live.
Is exciting to see and hear of your adventures!

We had a bloke at work who wouldn’t go on company field trips because it is somewhere he had never been. Not been to America so not going. Odd viewpoint on life.

Just a quick update for those interested.
By midday on the 3rd February we had a full load of containers and left Italy.
We have just entered the Atlantic after being 'in the queue passing Gibraltar'.
We can now increase speed and head north.
