Testing my limits (driving)

My longest journey in recent times has been a 3 hour drive from Norfolk to Margate, so a scheduled 4 -1/2 hour trip to the North East on a Friday had my good lady worried it was a tad to far for me.
She needn't have worried tho', as roadworks on the A1 plus an accident that closed a whole section between junctions, resulting in a wandering detour thro' wee villages meant it took us almost 10 -1/2hours, so I think I can say I am up to the job of long rides. I have flown to America quicker than that.

Yes, you can fly to America but the scenery on the way is a lot different. Riding through country villages at a snails pace due to traffic give your wife an interesting ride rather than endless views of tarmac. You of course are forced to drive rather than steer in a relatively straight line on the A1 and A1(M) once you manage to reach it from Norfolk.

Yes it's a 2 hour drive from here in Norfolk to reach the long straight road. The joys of living back of beyond.
At least the hold up on the A1 tested the stop/start function, until I got fed up with it and reverted to manual control.
In the stop times I even managed to work out how to put Waze onto the car screen instead of the idiotic built in satnav.
