Hi, does anyone run DCC 3 rail using Marlin. Next question, can I use Hornby Dublo 3 rail track for DCC, using a mark link 3 rail DCC loco. How wouldtrack be wired. Thanks. John

Hi. The Marklin digital system originally was not compatible with DCC and was a Motorola system.
The newer versions can be controlled by DCC but you need to check the spec. for a particular locomotive to determine if it can be controlled by DCC.
Out of 31 Marklin digital locos that I have including some fairly recent ones none can be controlled by DCC as far as I know so checking is important.
The only problem I can see in running Marklin on Hornby Dublo 3-rail track is the very course flange profile used by Marklin which may cause trouble at crossings and points. If you can get hold of a cheap wagon you could test with that. The Marklin system is stud contact not continuous centre rail and uses a skate for pickup rather than the "spoons" of the Hornby system.
Wiring should be simple with one wire to the outer rails and the other to the centre conductor.
Hope this helps. Colin
