Deep history has always been a fascination. Egyptian history continues to fascinate, and no, I don't believe for an instant that the pyramids were built by Ancient Aliens, that is insulting to the brilliance of ancient Egyptians. The bigger question is if they had already created the Leyden Jar, and if the Pyramids actually had plumbing that caused water rolling off the lime stone facades to phosphoresce in the dark.

Anyways, this cost a buck and a few slaps of gold paint, and voila, an ancient antiquities load hits the rails.

Can it be found at a later date at Sutton Hoo or elsewhere in Henley?

Not sure that is the correct face for a Sphynx. It looks more like my Aunt Ethel.

What we see now of the pyramids is far different to how they appeared when first built. They were indeed clad and had a gold pyramind at the apex. There was no need for extra plumbing as limestone can "glow" because of the presence of calcite.

An interesting point, the reference to plumbing is speculation about these square conduits, roughly about 18 inches x 18 inches that systematically run through the pyramid proper. The question raised was if the limestone facade would generate static electric glow from water coursing down upon it.

Of anything, the notion of Ancient Aliens descending and erecting these breathtaking edifices is an insult to the builders. They were really that smart. Just off the charts brilliant.

This morning, as I lay in bed, my Siamese cat batting my face, demanding to be fed, I wondered what it would have been like when the first patch of earth was swept to one side to initiate the foundation for the very first massive block of stone... The architects standing on some scrubby plot of dirt, surveying and measuring the ground... The first conversation that began with, "what if we put up a 481 foot pyramid..."

More likely Mrs Pharoah saying "Are you ever going to do something with that patch of land?"
