A few weeks back I bought a decoder however
The smoke of death appeared from it shortly after
I have seen a video on YouTube of someone reviving a “dead” decoder

Does anything believe this is possible
If so, can it be done with a multimaus controller ?

how did it get fried?

if only a few weeks ago maybe you could contact the retailer, from my own experience they may replace if it wasn't abused.

If there was smoke involved I think you have no chance! I think the decoders that can be revived are not actually dead, but just in a coma.

When an electronic component smokes 99.9% time after that, its dead. Its not relivable, its burnt out. RIP component and whatever it operated!
However, some if not all now, Decoders have built in overload protection which can cut off the device and prevent it from self districting. Depending on the level and type of protection it can take seconds or much longer for the trip to self reset.
Some plug-in power supplies (mains to low voltage) have self resetting cut outs and I've known some to take days to self reset. Ive even placed them for a couple of hours in the cold - e.g. a fridge to help! But not always can they be revived.

Well I haven’t tried using the decoder in a while I’ll give it one more shot
Either way however I’ve contacted yoochoos for a decoder with my requirements so all should be fine
Just waiting to hear back

If it smoked then you will need a soldering iron and smd replacement skills to fix it not a multimaus.
