16v ac wind turbine

hi, thinking of getting a couple of these. as it is stated 12-16v ac power could i just connect to my bus wires from my 4 amp hornby select track connection. thanks for help in advance

I would suggest not. Firstly I don't think the DCC output is 'proper' AC so the motor in the turbine may not like it. More importantly though, I think you risk messing up the DCC signals on the BUS.

Things like this should always have a seperate power supply. Controllers used have an auxiliary voltage output for things like this.

No, DCC is not 50Hz mains (in the UK) frequency nor is is it really AC as a sine wave.

Use a 16V AC outlet from a train controller Auxiliary output or a dedicated 16v AC power supply, like the Gaugemaster GMC-WM1 :D
