Peco do an isolating track ST-2005 for 00 gauge. Does anyone know if the same is available in n gauge, I can't see anything. If nothing exists can anyone suggest a method to keep 2 locos in an engine siding, with one being isolated. My locos are not fitted with DCC. Any suggestions welcome. Cheers

Either put in an insulated track joiner or cut one rail with a slitting disc in a mini drill.
Soldier wires either side of the cut or joiner and connect them to a simple on/off switch.

Thanks for the replies, both were really helpful. I've not used minitrix track before - is it compatible with Peco track

That is a good question!

I do not think that it 100% compatible, but it can be made to fit. I think the track height and track dimensions are very slightly (0.1mm?) different. For one piece of track it is probably not worth the hassle.

Minitrix is 50mm - Peco N ST-2 short straight is 58mm Those 8mm will cause no end of problems.
