Independent piece of track

#1

Post by Bandit Mick »

This is probably a silly question but need an answer please before I ruin work done. Am thinking of altering my simple fiddleyard to get rid of the point within it. This means one particular piece of track would join the layout proper as a siding and would not be joined to any other part of the layout or fiddleyard. Can this piece of track be simply joined to the main bus wire to power it? A pic of my fiddleyard is shown on my ‘layout with no name yet’. I am dcc. Thank you and sorry again if it’s a silly question.

I'm guessing on what you're planning, removing the red line and point that feeds it, but surely the fiddle yard tack is fed from the same DCC supply as the rest of the layout?? So, the new reworked track is connected the same feeds as the rest, just ensuring correct polarity, then there shouldn't be any issues as far as I can see.
