Re: A/C-D/C adaptor
i think it would depend on what make/model you are looking at.

Re: A/C-D/C adaptor
I would expect the minimum would be a thermal reset, these can cutout fast but can take a while to reset. Putting the adaptor in the fridge for a while can speed it up. However you need to look at what caused the excess heat to tigger the reset, if it was because you were running too many devices off it then simply reducing the current draw will remedy that. If however, the adaptor seems to warm up for no reason them there is an internal fault and it is best to mend it with a new one.

Thank you Richard, i think may have be caused by running to many locos at one time.
Re: A/C-D/C adaptor
Depends on what the rated output volts are?
e.g. 12 volts at 12va is 1.0Amp
24 volts at 12va is 0.5Amp (500 milliamp)
e.g. 12 volts at 12va is 1.0Amp
24 volts at 12va is 0.5Amp (500 milliamp)
Re: A/C-D/C adaptor
0.857 Amp so less than 1.0 Amp
Divide VA into rated volts = 12/14 =0.8571428 Amp
Re: A/C-D/C adaptor
Ok Brian thanks, what is the max amp i should use with 14 volts. Having used a 500ma for years, i find running more than one Black label is blowing the power supply.
