Ground cover

#1

Post by Bandit Mick »

A bit of advice please. On my layout Ty Mawr I have workers cottages against my back scene and the track curves in front of them. Then comes an area about 30cm deep before it meets a raised area of land at the front of the layout which is meadow with a derelict barn. What ground cover should I use for the 30cm area? At the moment it just has a coat of brown paint awaiting scenery. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

A photo of the area in question and what surrounds it might help folks visualise and give ideas. Just a thought.

Thanks Ian - never thought of that. I’ll ask my son to post a pic when he gets in - I can’t do it as I’m an inadequate when it comes to technology.

Here is the area I need to cover. But what to do? All suggestions gratefully received. Thank you.

A suggestion;-
A fence along side the rail track, also fence/hedge in the garden and put a garage at the end of the garden with a gate access, this will make an access rd to the houses and the factory at the end.

<t>I would certainly include a few more of your fab trees and perhaps a nice duck pond with various grasses, reeds and bushes etc....... perhaps you may even have the space for a larger pond with a couple of anglers enjoying the tranquility until the Miners Rest opens</t>

Thank you for your suggestions. I’ll crack on this weekend before I have to go into work next week.
