Kitted out the new V2 with its detailing pack plus crew, real coal and decoder and now to get it run in.
It’s one of the fiddliest detail packs I’ve seen on a steamer (it may have been my fat fingers that made it worse

).
As expected, some of the details cause running issues - the cab doors cause the tender to derail, even on R4 curves, so I may fit slimmer ones, at a slight inward angle, made from plasticard.
Also as expected, the front bogie derails but that may be the huge steam pipes which will need to be trimmed. Having said that, the bogie tends to drop off the rail at one specific place, so it may turn out to be a track issue (quite likely!!). It’s right at the entrance to the main tunnel so a little more awkward to observe and diagnose. It’s also possibly due to vertical interference from the brake rodding as the bogie pivot is a snug fit between the rodding and the chassis.

The loco is a real ‘looker’ though, it utilizes Bachmann’s new clip and plug drawbar - easy to disconnect although more of a challenge to reassemble. Poseable firebox doors to go with the firebox glow are an extra for the cab.
