Sorry, not for me……Brings back too many expensive memories of paying for shoes for my daughters two ponies many years ago - would be retired by now with a huge layout if it wasn’t for these beasts and the 7.5 ton truck to chauffeur them the length and breadth of the country …… all this because I took her pony trekking at the local country park one Saturday when the swimming baths were closed !

My attention was drawn back to the garage today as the new propshaft for the Spitfire finally arrived.
A brief scare when I thought it was too long but it transpires that it has a sliding spline joint. All fitted and running under its own steam.
The noise that I have bnn trying to eliminate is still there!!!! Not much left to investigate as everything in the drive line from the gearbox rearwards has been replaced.
After I've tidied up my tools (now I can get yo the bench) I'll have to double check the suspension bushes and the front wheel bearings.

In other news - went back to the eye hospital for a check up after the recent retinal delamination. Now it's torn again so waiting for the laser room to be free so I can have more laser surgery.
That figure painting will have to wait a bit longer.

I have an attack of gout at the moment - pretty painful. Itis down to dehydration not boozing. I went to London for a "Old Timers" lunch on Thursday - one vodka and tonic before lunch and one glass of wine over a three course lunch. However I did not have my 11am coffee, my glass of water with lunch and my 2.30pm cup of tea and I missed my 4pm tea/coffee - we have drinks at roughly the same times each day  . So lack of liquids causes the problem - I take tablets for the gout, but it still catches you out now and again.
