I needed to add a small water tower to the yard but there's precious little space (poor planning). I picked up a Skaledale model based on the one at Goathland and decided to cut a chunk out of the rear wall but not the tank itself to give the appearance of it being built into the side of the engine shed.
Had to use a mix of my bandsaw, mill and finished off 'whittling' with the Dremel. A repaint of the tank and it makes for a suitably cramped installation

Fits in nicely with the other stone work.

It's not a bad match......not perfect but when mixing Hornby and Bachmann designs that's to be expected.
It's odd, Hornby produced this as part of their recreation of Goathland Station, but getting up close today it's obvious that they used a generic stone pattern rather than replicate the original which has a much smoother finish and very fine mortar courses between the blocks.
The Bachmann stonework is a much closer match to the real thing.

A bit of judicious weathering might bring them together.
