There is significant consistency when it comes to the cost of a replacement from all suppliers. A rebuild starts at £750 while an exchange unit is £1400.
The rebuild price includes the cost of the bearings and normal service parts but excludes replacement of the larger moving components.
Who said model railways are expensive?

Modelling may be either very slow or severely curtailed for a while.

Tenosynovitis.
Also known as 'trigger finger'. It's what put an end to my painting efforts last year.
In a nutshell the surgeon removed the scar tissue on the tendons that was locking my thumb and ring finger in the clenched position. It even had a name, affectionately known as 'The Claw' in our household.
Twenty five minutes under the knife, local anaesthetic (that effin' hurts when it goes in!) and the surgeon pointing out to his accomplices how thick the scarring was.
I did ask if I would be able to play the guitar after the op. Surgeon said yes which is a bonus as I've always wanted to play an instrument.

Yep, the anaesthetic is the worst part of a minor op.

Not sure normal is a condition I have ever experienced........in anything.
Stitches out after two weeks, then physio to keep things moving. I had similar surgery on t'other hand for carpal tunnel around 25 years ago - I think that took around three months for 'normal'.
