I've just added the BR green Tavern Cars "Jolly Tar" to the coaching stock. Tremendous detail, very close coupling and the lights stay on for ages once the track power is turned off.

Wonderful internal detailling made far better with the internal lighting :D
But at £125.99 (RoS price) for two coaches, to me its a bit expensive! :o But lovely!!

It would look even better with passengers.

Lovely comment in The Times back in the day "While tavern cars were generally enjoyed by the public — as parliamentary secretary to the Ministry of Transport James Callaghan MP pointed out in his oppositional opinion, “Nobody likes these tavern cars except for the public”.

As a dyed in the wool northern modeller, it pains me to admit they look rather good. An excellent 'fit' for your layout Barry.
