Thanks Brian and Steve - there was a sigh of relief when it all worked. One difficulty was that the plugged wires from switch/push-button/panel top to the circuit boards inside the control box are about 150mm long, and as more got connected up, it was not possible to lift the top very high to connect further buttons - so that was a bit of a struggle.

I have just added a HM7000 6-pin decoder and power bank to a Kernows Adams Class 02, which I bought back in 2015. I am pleased to say that the decoder and power bank all went in through the smokebox door, and it is all running very well. It's a pity the 6-pin decoders do not have sound. At least with the power bank this small loco runs over points and slips without any hesitation.

Nice loco Barry.
Yes, disappointed not to have a sound option in the 6 pin - would have been handy fir a few of mine.
Space in the small locos is always an issue but in one particularly spacious 6 pin I managed to squeeze in a N18 with an adapter plus speaker and stay alive.

A bit of ingenuity today - I have a Bachmann Class 419 MLV (Motor Luggage Van), with lots of room inside. So fitted it with a HM7000 21pin decoder and the Hornby Enhanced Bass Speaker, then loaded the Flirt sounds. One of the sound options on this sound profile is "station sounds". With this loco parked out of the way in the station, I now have full background station sounds.

It has been a long time coming, but power has been restored to some parts of the station and buildings. Hopefully the rest will follow very soon :)

Thanks Howard - I'm at the stage with the electrics where I wish I had just put in a 12v bus cable when I originally constructed the layout. I labelled most wires when removing the window board, but I appear to have missed a few. Hopefully no blown LED's - some run on 3v's. :(

"Missed a few."
Similar here. Granddaughter demanded a running session yesterday and suddenly one length of track died - no power. Traced it to a single dropper that I had forgotten to solder to the main bus five years ago. It was only twisted around the bus wire and had finally built up enough tarnish to stop the current. Now soldered - better late than never.
