Likewise Brian - it probably takes them a few minutes to do each wagon etc.

I have just had a frustrating few hours. I mentioned that I had replaced all of the Peco point motors with Cobalt Digital iP's - all motors programmed, installed and wired up, so I thought. Two of the points are Peco 3-way points, so there are three "frogs" and two point motors per point - I kept getting a short on one of the frogs everytime a loco ran over it. I had wired these up previously, some years ago, with no problems, and I really did know what I was doing, but to no avail. Eventually, having taken all of the wires out, and then putting them back I appear to have 100% success. Once the new control panel is in place "all" of the point motors will need programming again, but I believe this will happen automatically as each motor is attached to the DCC Concepts Alpha System - fingers crossed

A new addition to the fleet  A Maunsell Class D1 - none in preservation and withdrawn from service in 1961. It will receive a Hornby Next 18 sound decoder and speaker. The crew are hopefully in the post from Modelu - they have crew especially made for this loco.

That is a good looking loco Barry. I'm glad I went over to O gauge, I would be bankrupt by now.

I have cut down on my purchases Brian. I am thinking of getting rid of a few loco's - I will probably send a list to one of the company's selling pre-owned loco's and see what they offer, I really don't want to go down the ebay route - to much hassle.

I sold 5 recently Barry. Didn’t get a fortune for them but I didn’t buy them as an investment. Four went to Rails of Sheffield. Money went into my account with them.

I actually had a train running today. The Class 3MT will run back and forth all day with a stop at each end for about two minutes. A little more refining required - the shuttle module would be better installed during track laying, this would allow the slowing and stopping distance to be accurately set up. When your track is already laid and ballasted it is little more difficult to do. The module itself takes a couple of minutes to install, you require two breaks in one rail, and a couple of wires (similar to droppers) soldered to the rail and attached to the module. Ideally the distance between the two breaks allows for realistic slowing down and stopping - I did not have this.
