and then Bachmann have annoubnced a new tooled Class 8F!!!

Oh no! Might not be able to resist. They are my favourite locos as I saw them working around Northwich just before the end of steam.

Have already got an ancient tender drive one which barely runs ( inherited from my dad), a Hornby one and a metal Wrenn one ( basically a 2 rail version of the Oid Hornby 3 rail I had as a kid - bit crude but she runs like a dream).

I treated myself to a new sound fitted loco, I can only try it out on a rolling road right now, but I am very pleased with how smooth and quiet the mechanism is, and the sounds hit the spot for me. Obviously looks great too đŸ™‚

Yesterday received some nice new Gresley teaks, thanks to Hornby giving me a voucher and having some hobby points.
The reason for the purchase of some teaks, apart from the fact they are very pretty.

My father has had to remove his railway, predominantly BR with a smattering of LNER. I have avoided LNER with my OO purchased as I already have that covered on the TT layout.

Most of his loco's are older models and not easily changed to DCC, but I did commandeer this one from his layout, in need of a good clean, and A DCC ready tender is now on the way:

Of course this started a spending spree, the first of which were the Gresley teak coaches for a future loco.

While researching what would be nice for my small LNER collection, I saw this BR Peppercorn A1 (mint ex shop stock) and could not resist. This of course, then prompted a hunt for some eastern region BR coaches, hopefully now sortedÂ đŸ¤£

Now back to finding some LNER liveried locomotives !

When an express blue A4 described as having a ticking sound going forward and having a few minor cosmetic issues appeared on auction I had to investigate. It looked in good condition and had the parts that need re-attaching included, so I put in an offer.

Ticking sound turned out to be the rod that mounts to the footplate (no idea what its called or is for IRL). The plastic holder had been glued on so I removed cleaned up and re-attatched, seems to have sorted it, cab doors re-attatched and I happened to have a spare 8 pin HM7000 sound decoder to fit.

So another loco added to the collection !
