The idea of extra pick ups in an auto coach (which is what the 14xx will be pulling) seems a good solution. I am happy for the 14xx and the autocoach to be permanently coupled so no issues there.

In principle I get it - but the detail I will need some help with. Does anyone have any detailed plans/diagrams that will help me with this please?

Thank you.

I have a DJ 14XX. I have no trouble with pickups and have no stay alive. Other locos in my stable are a lot more troublesome but the DJ is a vast improvement on the airfix/dapol/Hornsby 14XX

My DJ 14XX has no trouble on points and diamond crossings even when extra slow in the sidings.

This is where my confusion creeps in. The track is well laid, perfectly level, well joined and plenty of droppers. I am using live frogs which have all the necessary additional adjustments and solderings. The track has been thoroughly cleaned using IPA.

So, how come, sometimes, I still get some stuttering and stalling? Not a lot, just a little. With the stay alive fitted to my J15 I have no problems whatsoever.
