Sam never has his "test" loco's "run-in" before comparing with loco's that have probably been running for months. His test loco "appeared" to have trouble with about nine coaches, I watched another YouTube test and the 9f was pulling fifty wagons and they thought they could have added another twenty - but they ran out of wagons.

Not to worry one day he will grow up - all my new acquisitions get a hours running in round a Kato Unitrak oval laid on a wooden floor which afterwards can be inspected / swept for anything that may have fallen off. The hours running in being 15 minutes in each direction, then the loco turned round and repeated. That way any pick up issue should alos show up - the worst was a Bachmann 7F that stopped as soon as it reached a curve - needed virtually all the pick up tweaking.
