Very few N gauge locos will have sufficient space for sound. It’s not the decoder but finding space for the speaker that is the challenge. Very few will have been designed with that in mind. And perhaps counterintuitively, diesels tend to have even less space as they are usually ‘full’ of chassis weights and often the drive to both bogies. Major alterations would be needed.
