A CDU feed from a good power supply of at least 16v AC and 1.0Amp or greater should recharge fully within milliseconds once all levers or switches are in their Off position.

Well, that’s what the specs. of my Gaugemaster Combi, so fingers crossed!

Couple of comments.
On my previous layout I ran the DCC acc decoder output into the coil of a pair of relays which ported the output from a GM CDU to the solenoids. I also had manual switching for when the PC wasn’t on and I found I could repeatedly select points and they would throw reliably. The CDU recharge time was able to keep up without problems.
I have modified my Hornby R8243 surface point motors to remove the spindly wires and fit a direct header so
I can plug in a heavier wired harness.

That looks very impressive, but is way beyond my skill level. I’ll be lucky if I get the things working properly using the standard wiring!
