Board tops have been cut to their basic sizes - including Howard’s corner fillets - no sides have been cut as I will do that once the track plan is finalized. That will determine the positions of the stretchers and at least one more board joint.
I have cut a few Peco templates to shuffle around on the boards - track planning is always the bit I struggle with most, and usually get completely wrong.

Barry, you are a tease!

The slowdown in Peco’s production will probably hold me up to be honest but I intend to order a box of flexitrack and a couple of tracksettas so I can map out what is possible on these boards. It’s about half the area of Low Ghyll (on the shelf above) but my brain is convinced that I can’t fit anything on these new boards which is ridiculous when I think how much I fitted into the smaller layout.

Still, I’ve got the point templates ready and will probably make a couple of curve templates to help the thought process.

Brian - that timescale is slow for my scenery.

Steve I was referring to the second set of scenery after you had changed the track layout. Nice to gave a blank canvas isn’t it.

Yes Brian, it feels good to be starting over but I must fight the urge to rush. Probably a fight I will lose.

As for changes in scenery, last week I was convinced this would have no station, just trains in the country - guess what I’ve been looking at - station plans.
I need stronger meds.

How big is your shed Steve? - You certainly appear to have a lot of room.

I want to know where Steve finds all the time to undertake all the work involved?? Great as it is.
I am retired. but cant find any serious time to undertake model railway work on this scale!

Barry - 12’x8’ and it’s not big enough!

Brian (FB) - I only work part time (evenings) which keeps the days free, and helps pay for the hobby. And apart from the odd day when I put in a full shift on something big on the railway, more often than not, I just potter around for a couple of hours most mornings.

Brian (WTD) - cloned? No - side effect from the vaccine maybe.

Oh yes, did I mention I still find time for an afternoon nap?
