Looking through your list of names for your layout brought back some fond memories of camping in Devon when I was a kid in the 1950s. With the permission from the local farmer we would pitch our tent in the Cider apple orchards that sloped down to the bay in a placed called Ladram Bay which was about a ten minute drive from the beautiful Village of Otterton. Each morning the shop owners from Otterton would bring from the village bread, eggs, milk.newspapers and anything you needed. Otterton had a railway station which sadly fell under Beechings axe but today still has a working water mill and a nice pub called the Kings Head which my sister and I spent many a summers evening sitting outside with our packets of smiths crisps and i spy books waiting for mum and dad. Ladram Bay is now a vast caravan holiday complex with shops, restaurants and pub which has grown and grown all stemmed from us visitors from London camping year after year in the cider apple orchards.
Happy days.

A feast for the eyes. I suppose choosing a name for a layout is a bit like choosing a name for a baby. It's really not something that you want to get wrong.

Doesn’t matter if you give your layout the wrong name, you can change it immediately.

Last year on the old site I posted my intentions to have a camping coach diorama on the old branch line. I still have yet to add the camping coach transfers that I got from Fox recently.
Some may remember and I cannot find the photo I originally posted however here is a current pic of my progress with the old rail and buffer stop.
I will add some more pics to the left of the coach as I progress.
In addition to this I have been playing around with attempts at sleeper weathering. Far from being an expert here is one example.

When we moved to this house just over 6 years ago we thought we might give it a name. Then trawling through all the deeds paperwork we found it had already got one though the previous owners were either unaware or not bothered. The original site had been an orchard and split into different sections or fields. This plot was on East Field so we named the house Eastfield and hence the layout got the same name with Eastfield Station, Eastfield Gas Works and Eastfield Coal Mine. My new layout will probably get the same name to save changing the signs on the buildings
