I actually asked at a building site and took loads out of a skip for free, might be worth a try. It was mainly off cuts as the larger sheets were taken, but that's all I wanted.

I think B&Q do the stuff Steve mentioned above (Jablite board) if it's the same stuff?

As Steve i to had many lift out sections built with celotex.

Lots of 'scraps, end up in skips. I’ll see if my son has any.

I will claim my earlier use of the word Jablac was because I harecently painted some car parts with JAPLAC - or as Brian said the other day it’s something to do with my age.

The old tunnel/hill has now gone - portals and support walls - cut off. If I used polystyrene again, and purchased a "hot-wire" knife from wherever, does the wire/knife seal the poly. as you cut, therefore eliminating the poly balls everywhere? It's by far the cheapest option, the Kingspan type material looks good, but I don't really need and 8x4 sheet, and although advertised in smaller sizes nobody seems to carry them. I have a new Scenecraft Tunnel Portal coming 44-292 - looks nice - stone and brick.

Barry, I recall Wickes sell smaller sheets of Kingspan type stuff (never used it myself though).
You will know from my previous comments that imho the best stuff was the pink insulation they used to sell but I now use a grey polystyrene from B&Q - I got the name wrong last time but I think it’s called Jablite or something similar.
I cut it with a hot wire which does indeed seal the cut edges. Quite easy to take thin slivers off until you get it the way you want it. I also cover the whole lot with plaster bandage to seal it further.

Thanks Steve - I did ask at my local B&Q about the Jablite(?), which they knew of, but said it would have to be special order, unless I went to Reading B&Q (huge place) where they would stock it. At least the old tunnel/hill has gone, so I am motivated to get the space filled. Barry

Sounds like you are getting impatient- did you learn that from me?
Surprised your local didn't have it in stock though.
