My apologies, I should have been more specific since there have ( as pointed out ) been a few versions of the schools class locomotive.

What I should have said was a chassis from the locomotive drive era schools locomotive, I believe hornby made it for both the railroad and main range versions.

A good idea as well. Let's hope he can get his lovely locomotive back on the rails.

Think the body is in the bin. Trouble is when the chassis block distorts the loco body can be very badly cracked and distorted.

Juries out on this one (a full rebuild). I still have the body and will rebuild it and see where I go from there. Thanks for the suggestions.

Sorry I thought you had binned it. I suppose it could be made to look OK and sit in a siding.
