And just to mark another record for this thread, post number 2000!

Sorry to hear you are having more eye issues Steve, hope it gets sorted for you soon.
Compare it to Barry's Wykeham thread, similar number of views but a third fewer posts ie no waffle or thread drift. :D

Two new additions - a Bachmann, sound fitted LNER G5 and a new servicing cradle from Feldherr in Germany.

What a beauty! My last purchases from Bachmann (after studying Sam's Model Trains Review first) have been exceptional in every way.

Some of you will know that I was an early convert to the Hornby HM7000 control system and now have all my locos controlled from an ipad.
I had made a small, clip on shelf to rest the device on but I kept knocking it off the layout sides so I have bought a couple of these wall mounted tablet brackets from Amazon.
This one provides an eye level view of the controls when operating the layout while the other is on the workbench for when I'm working on locos.

Would I be correct in the assumption that you move the device between locations?

I recall one of my concerns with the HM6000 system was that only one device could be in control at once, so I wonder if it's the same on the 7000 series.

The system gives direct control of locos assigned to that device. Perfectly feasible to have multiple devices on the same layout but you can't share locos across multiple devices.

That's a good idea Steve - is it quite firm when in place?

I was expecting today's eye appointment to be a sign off.
Wrong! Two new tears in the left retina so I'm now waiting for more laser surgery.

Edit: right eye has rejoined the party and needed more treatment as well.

Beginning to get a bit fed up with this now..
