Neptune Street
Re: Neptune Street
The latest addition to the loco stud; it was such a good price, DCC ready and lightly weathered, just too good not to re-home. The usual to complete; fit brake rigging, vacuum pipes, real coal and crew.

Are those capstans air rifle pellets?

Many of my 'alternative scenic items' have eight legs.

Re: Neptune Street
Astonishing photo, one can almost smell the grease and smoke. Is that graffiti on the roof?
Re: Neptune Street
Chops,
it is and it isn’t. The original was painted on the side on one of the large corrugated iron storage sheds at Hull’s Alexandra dock and became a beloved symbol and unofficial navigation aid for sailors. It is now preserved in Humber Street Gallery in Hull. It is my homage to all trawler men. Have a Google to see the original.
Re: Neptune Street
The added bonus of getting the Christmas ‘stuff’ up is shed time
So I’ve made a start on the level crossing; the wooden decking has gone down, it is after all a minor road giving access to the shed and dock, as opposed to a main tarmac road.

The level crossing gates are also coming along, with some alterations; gates in this area seemed only to have one bracing diagonal, as opposed to a cross brace - just a touch fiddly.

I had started to do some more, the footpaths and cobbles down to the wooden decking, but started to make one or two stupid mistakes, a 5 am start to the day is not conducive to late evening shed time.
More tomorrow, hopefully.
