Nice, I'll remember not to use DAS when I get to a similar stage 
I have test 3D printed some "concrete" hardstanding sections.
I am similar M.O. with regards to chipping locos, and as I like to use HM7000 decoders for cost reasons, I have found (on the TT layout) that a stayalive is a major help, as if they loose contact momentarily, the BT takes a while to reconnect.
With the OO , I wont be using BT but have got into the habit of adding stay alives as a belt and braces approach where I can.
My similar sized tank engine is an older Hornby Fowler. It has an 8 pin socket but that will be ripped out as its not much use where it is. Current plan after looking at it yesterday, is wire in a Next 18 board, which should just fit the decoder and itself in the hollow in the chassis at the rear bogie, run the wires to the speaker where the 8 pin plug was (conveniently below the chimney), and the stay alive should fit in the coal bunker hollow. I may need to dremel a channel so the wires can go under the cab floor.
That is todays plan, along with an old Bachmann N class, which I plan to run wires to the permanently attatched tender and fit it all in that !

Nice job Steve - blends in well with the surroundings and I am sure will look stunning when you you have finished dressing it.

The new control panel is coming along apart from cracking my last piece of perspex - twice!

I hadn't planned to go this today, but the lighting is on in the engine shed. I added the roof beams from my old shed to this one and transferred over some of the fittings.
