Hi all, well that's the track work done and after a bit of fettling (toggle switches with back to front polarity), its all wired up and running fine.

Had to compromise at yard entrance / exit using settrack 2nd radius curved points but trimmed them on all 3 ends reducing the 2nd radius length then using a tracsetter onto a more gradual curve. It's going to represent a small well used sidings so no need for fast running anyway, and may double up as a heritage line too!

New incline / decline fits under my scratch built bridge too so fits well.

Now able to have either 3 running using 2 upper levels and 1 lower, or 1 lower and 1 going up and down crossing over upper levels which is pleasing on the eye with it disappearing into the tunnel and using all lines.

Photos show current state with 90, 47 and 45 running.

Happy modelling

And yet another amendment......

Installed the 2nd radius curved points and in truth, it just didn't look right. Too tight and any 3 wheel bogied locos would struggle or derail. So back to the drawing (12mm ply) board.

New entrance and exit now using gradual curves, and by adding a new board gives me the opportunity to house the longest rakes if need be. 2 through roads and a destination siding with run around available via a headhunt.

Wiring done and all locos tested.

Fingers crossed this is the last of my trackwork done, now to tackle the scenics....happy modelling!

Hi, been a busy month or so away on holiday but still had time for the layout!

Focus has been on the station, and with my varied stock making sure everything passes a curved platform without touching or looking like it's 6ft away, eventually I'm there (on the second attempt I might add). Platform edges from Peco trimmed then glued onto 12mm board, sprayed then painted the white edges. Still unsure about actual top coating and other details yet.

Also used various thicknesses of board I've sourced from work to build the shell of the walls and bridge supports, going for a bus interchange scene above and street buildings in low relief. Painted it all black for a base coat and doesn't look too bad. Want to keep the entrance to the freight yard separate but visible so arches created by hand.

Also put an idea at the main station for a bridge, does anyone know if you can buy similar bridge designs to Paddington (Ranleigh Road?) As a nod to the GWR?

Anyway, Happy modelling!
