Hells bells Steve what have you done?
Tenosynovitis.
Also known as 'trigger finger'. It's what put an end to my painting efforts last year.
In a nutshell the surgeon removed the scar tissue on the tendons that was locking my thumb and ring finger in the clenched position. It even had a name, affectionately known as 'The Claw' in our household.
Twenty five minutes under the knife, local anaesthetic (that effin' hurts when it goes in!) and the surgeon pointing out to his accomplices how thick the scarring was.
I did ask if I would be able to play the guitar after the op. Surgeon said yes which is a bonus as I've always wanted to play an instrument.
