WEST ORTON
Re: WEST ORTON
Playing with some graphics in an effort to update my mimic panel. A fair bit of refining still to be done but pleased so far.

Re: WEST ORTON
Probably.
I've reused all the existing switches and wiring (but ditched the warning lights) so it should just be a case of unplugging from the old panel and plugging in to the new one.
There's a second panel to do for the engine yard but that will wait until I revamp the sheds later this year in case the trackplan changes.
That should give you a fighting chance Barry.

Finished putting the switches back in the new face panel along with a light to show when its all powered up. A couple of the servos for the signals are playing up but that's for another day.

Re: WEST ORTON
In other news.....the diff is out of the Spitfire again. Only took 90 mins compared with the three days it took last time.
Now to arrange a trip to Redditch to see someone that actually knows what they are doing with these bits. Timing of the trip will be interesting as out fourth grandchild is due tomorrow and I'm having a small op at the end of next week - I can barely lift this with both hands do just one ain't going to get the job done.

Re: WEST ORTON
What's wrong with the diff, Steve? Noisy bearings? Crown wheel and pinion needs lapping/adjustment? Or even worse.
Re: WEST ORTON
Bearings have been replaced and the shim adjustments made. It looks like the sun wheel / halfshaft splines have too much backlash. Those parts are either ferociously expensive or unobtainable. Easier to either let a specialist rebuild it or supply a recon unit.

Re: WEST ORTON
Yep. But even getting it done by a specialist is still going to be expensive. Hopefully someone will have a recon one sitting on a shelf somewhere. Good luck.
