Unable to stay logged in

I don’t understand this. Tick the "remember me" box. Log in with user name then password. It works and the only time I have to log in is if I log out.

What a roller coaster this has been, I say that because last night I decided to try my usual way of keeping myself logged in but instead of using the autosaved details, I did a full manual entry of my details then ticked the remember me box and once on the main index page, I bookmarked it, the full process of which hadn't been working, however, strangely enough, last night it finally worked.

I can't understand how and / or why after so many attempts to figure out what I was or wasn't doing in order to stay logged in ( even after clearing my search history ), it has finally worked and if ever there was a puzzle to confuse anyone, I would say that this would probably make somewhere in the top 20.

The only thing I can say there is "bonkers or what".
