some layout pics I took this evening.
still a lot to complete such as ballasting and scenery, though have recently added some simple stuff such as weathered pallets, dustbins and added fire buckets.
I have been looking at your pictures and thinking of names. Uhmmm. "Attic Junction"... "Long Pass"...
Reminds me of an area of the Pembroke and Tenby railway where after the tunnel at Narberth one goes up a bank called "Cold Blow". For some reason the place name sprang to mind! I imagine it was named as at one time it may have been exposed? Has tall trees there when I last worked the line.
I was told about an accident on the PW, as a PW told me this not long after or before he retired. He said one of his workmates was around 60-65ft high cutting one of the tall trees near the lineside with a chainsaw. He had obviously started getting tired, as by the time he had realized his mistake it was too late. He was cutting the very branch he was sitting on! Ended up in hospital I was told. As I recall it was in that general area I was told it happened.
Names... Do you have any local areas that don't and never had a railway that you could adopt the name from one of them?
I live just outside Buxton, Derbyshire and my stock are the usual popular diesel classes and mainly steam loco's are Midland and GWR classes. Also have a few of LNER and SR loco's. I was thinking at a crossover pointing towards south.
