BLACK BOX 00 GAUGE A4
Have Dapol abandoned supporting or supplying the Black Box A4's. Other than smoke I can not find any reference to them on the Dapol site.
Re: BLACK BOX 00 GAUGE A4
I would presume that the last few have been sold and as they were limited editions there’s little point in keeping details on their website. Dapol had an appointed service agent at one point, maybe they can help with any issues you may have.
Does Brian have any info?

Re: BLACK BOX 00 GAUGE A4
Hi all
I'm considering purchasing a OO Dapol Black Label A4 - Dwight D. Eisenhower BR Green from RoS.
But at just shy of £400 I would like to know if anyone else has one (any one of the Dapol A4s) and if so, how does it perform?

Brian, I have Golden Eagle in LNER apple green from the first release - it performs exceptionally well. Very heavy, so pulling power is not an issue. The fan driven smoke function is oil based which is good but as you probably know from the old SyncroSmoke days, it's a bit wispy and is heavier than air so eventually sinks around the loco when stationary. IMHO, the Hornby steam generator models produce a better effect.
The first batch were beautifully put together and exquisitely decorated.
