Plans for smoke have not worked out as planned (no surprise).
I have established that the machine heats the smoke fluid to a very high temperature then squirts the resulting vapour through a nozzle. The superheated vapour then condenses as any air it meets is cooler than the vapour. The trouble is that as soon as you put a pipe or tube on the nozzle, the vapour condenses in the tube so that little or no smoke comes out the end. And of course, as I wanted to use narrow diameter tubing, these very quickly fill with condensed water.
So it’s not going to be practical to route smoke to specific locations around the layout. However, I have fitted a larger diameter tube to the machine so I can give areas a quick squirt to photographic purpose.
I guess it’s a case of nothing ventured, nothing gained.
Better get back to ‘proper’ modelling.
