Heljan Class 33 spares

#1

Post by andy757 »

Does anyone know where I can buy new wheels for an OO gauge Heljan Class 33 other than Heljan themselves ?
I've been waiting 2 months for Heljan to get back to us.

Hi
After two months I would feel Heljan either havent received the email or they have ignored it for some reason?
Have you tried Howes Models link or Peters Spares link ?

Have you tried Howes Models - https://howesmodels.co.uk/product-categ ... al-spares/

I believe the wheelsets are common to many of the locos.

The guy upgrading the Class 33 for me has spoken to Heljan and they know about the order but they keep telling him they are waiting on a spares backlog.

As he and you know the reason and they did reply, I would try the two I quoted in post #2 One of these is also suggested in post #3 too.

Quite simply they are out of stock - Howes are the UK dealer for Heljan spares and have sold out so its a case of waiting for a new supply to turn up.

Thanks for posting this thread. I have been vainly searching for powered bogies for the same model, to no avail. Superbly function model, except that the rather old gears simply fatigued from age and broke up like glass. I'm going to dip my toe in Howe's, having already exhausted my inquiry with Peter's Spares.

The chap upgrading my Class 33 has decided to buy a new Class 128 and rob the wheels from that so as to continue with the job in hand. When the new Heljan stock arrives, he'll add those wheels to the 128 and sell it on.

Heljan told him to contact Howes for a stock update !

Peters suggested to me they might have the right gear in stock. Otherwise, I may end up trying to get some custom jobs from Northwest Shortline.
