Real steam!

My Dad used to get the steam effect back in the day by blowing smoke from his Players No6 across the layout. Grandad would use Woodbines.

I’m happy to be smokeless on my layout now.

It uses water to generate the steam. The guy said that the prototype they were using only held a couple of teaspoons of water.

They have been doing this on kiddies toy trains for years. They only need a litrle water and a heating element. The steam usually lasts around 15 minutes and the kid adds a few drops more water and his toy train carries on. It is much better then using smoke oils as it does not leave nasty smells.
