a good while ago i had an old hornby class 20 which flew round r1 curves with ease. i am now thinking of buying the bachmann class 20's with sound but because of the price would like to know if the new can cope with r1 curves like the hornby. expensive to find out the hard way.
cheers for any advice

Sam's trains has done a review of this model, but you'd need to contact him and ask him about his experience with Radius 1 Curves... I'd imagine he does have them, but not sure exactly where on his layout they'd be.

I wouldn't go to him! .
IMO it is far better to contact Bachmann direct, if their details do not give minimum radius (which for medium sized locos like the class 20, is usually 2nd radius)
Contact Bachmann either by email customer.services@bachmann-europe.co.uk or phone them on 01455 245 577 or ask a question via their web site for that style of loco - Example https://www.bachmann.co.uk/product/cate ... e/35-125sf
