Points problem
Re: Points problem
Yes, done all the wire stuff and they did work both ways before being installed.
Off out to do some pics so will have a look later.

Re: Points problem
1) What wire are you using?
2) Are you feeding one motor then linking on to the next?
3) What power supply are you using and what is its output voltage and current?
If linked together plus possibly a low power supply voltage/current and with thin wire or a mix, you will be lucky if they move at all !

Re: Points problem
Looks like the transformer/controller was on its last legs so may not have helped. So I'll get another one of those then.

Re: Points problem
After fitting the first point motor did you turn the next one the oposite way round.

Re: Points problem
Turning a motor will not stop it operating. It will just work in reverse to the opposite motor.
Re: Points problem
Yes I understood that the problem was both motors went in the same direction. If you turn one roundit will work oposite direction. I thought that was the problem. If he turns one around they no longer work in the same direction.

Re: Points problem
Correct. But each time the operating lever or switch etc is operated, one motor will move one way and the other motor moves in the opposite direction!
Re: Points problem
Just to close this one down, the transformer had stopped working for some reason.
By the time I could get hold of a new one, I'd totally re-wired the whole shooting match using EZE-Wire switches/looms and CDU.
Connected up the new power supply and they all worked.
So everything's now wired up and working right round two sides of the room as far as the main station throat.
Hat tip whoever said get a CDU. It really makes a difference - as does having a working transformer.
