Digitrax DT602

I am currently the proud owner of a Bachman EZ Controller which is adequate for me at the moment while I am building my layout. I have considered various upgrade options and the favourite so far for my needs is the SPROG 3. VERY close second is the NCE Powercab (to replace both), which until now seemed head & shoulders above the competition.

However, I have just been looking at several reviews of the Digitrax DT602. I started with Digitrax encoders (very nice) but was never excited with their controllers. However, the DT602 looks very nice indeed. Unfortunately you seem to have to but lots of other bits and pieces to make it work, unlike the Powercab?
