Trees - experimenting

Winter days and working from home I decided to have a go at making my own trees. At a distance, I am reasonably happy with the results

Look great. Trees are difficult to get right - bare trees are almost impossible as I’ve found out!

Cheers folks, the first attempt was way too big so I put it in the furthest corner of the layout far away...
Like the time I bought 'N' gauge buildings instead of 'OO' gauge, yes a moment, but they gave distance to the layout!!! Far away

N gauge accessories at the back if an OO layout is a good idea. I had an N farm at the back if mine. Looked great.

The use of N gauge items is good for emphasising distance. I used a Hornby Lyddle End cottage on my hillside - not sure whether to add people or not.

The thing with trees is they are actually massive if they are mature. I’ve seen loads of exhibition layouts where the trees are mature but modelled very small - although saying that, they could be a small variety I suppose.
