Flashing controller screen

I once create a small short when cropping the flex on a table lamp whilst it was still plugged in. Those pliers never were the same again. What amazes me is I managed to dismantle the bulb holder and haul the flex through the lamp to the correct length before I cropped it without electrocuting myself. Why on earth I didn’t do it from the plug end I have no idea - then or now.

Many years ago replacing our downstairs electric shower I thought I'd turned off the power (as the electrician that installed it had stated). Got the shower off ok and just had the wires exposed. I noticed something on the wall behind the wires and went to use the screwdriver to move it. The flash and spark that followed will never leave my memory! Thankfully the screwdriver handle was insulated otherwise it would have been goodnight Vienna
The stem of that screwdriver (my now forever favourite one) still has the dent and burn mark!
Now all the power goes off when ever I do anything - He's no longer our electrician either!!

I’ve got a similar problem with a flashing controller screen. But it only happens when a loco stops on a set of points. This is on the bullhead points which were designed to allow electricity to flow across the whole layout regardless which way they’re set. When it comes to wiring I’m a total novice, if anyone can advise that would be great

I think we'd need more info to be sure, but it sounds like the wheel flange is shorting on the Vee/Frog.

If you can send a picture of the point, plus a wiring diagram of how you havevit connected, I'm sure someone will spot the issue.
