I decided that my ‘bridge’ linking the two ends of the layout needed a scenic break - this I saw the result so far. The static grass and bushes are yet to be added but this does show the way I treat the surface first.
A mixture of plaster powder and playpit sand is sieved onto the surface and soaked in dilute PVA. Before it dries I then brush on green and brown surface paint from Woodland Scenics to give the ground some colour and texture before adding the static grass.
I think a platelayers hut may have to appear on here as well.
