Very nice Carl ……. I am not cute enough to determine if that is a Bachmann or Heljan one…….. I have a Green SYP on back order with Suttons, but not sure it will be delivered before I depart this world ! Green, Maroon and other non-blue diesels are definitely becoming my thing and I have just pre-ord...

I can almost smell the smoke from the decoder……..Alternatively you could always regularly clean the track, wheels and pick-ups…….. and avoid the sorcery and risk involved in wiring stay alives to some decoders……… this is written with the benefit of painful and expensive experience !

I look in a couple of times a week but layout in limbo as I clear the remainder of the garage to create space to increase the layout by about 1/3rd and fit a helix to the lower fiddle yard……..unlikely to start this year, especially as first Grandson born a fortnight ago and now down in Gloucestershi...

Carl,

Try sprinkling very finely filtered and oven dried soil from the garden….it is great for dulling down surfaces - spray surface with hair spray to hold in place - try L’Oréal……it will be worth it !
