Great pictures Ian - I look forward to seeing the SGR back up and running - October's not too far away :)

Re: Wykeham - Somewhere in the south!

It's going to take a while Brian - there is very little space under the mimic panel, and as you get a couple of push-buttons wired-up, the top is then not as manoeuvrable as it was when you started - it seemed a good idea at the time :(

Re: Wykeham - Somewhere in the south!

I have done some wiring today, and actually have a push-button illuminated and a point working - not the correct point on my mimic panel, but a point working. This is point No.1 on the mimic panel, but also No.1 on my current set-up, so I need to set the correct Cobalt to "Set" and then push the ...

Re: Wireless point control ?

I am installing the DCC Concepts Alpha System at the moment. I have had twenty five Cobalt digital point motors working on my layout for sometime - operated via toggle switches and my Hornby Elite. I purchased the Alpha system over a period of time - it's not cheap by the time you have got ...

Re: Wykeham - Somewhere in the south!

Thanks Richard - I will try that. I am also playing around with the location of the various PCB's. The "Switch D" which has the white sockets, has pre-plugged lengths of wire, which go from the Switch D to the push-button, however, they are all of the same length - so I have to make sure the Switch ...

Re: Wykeham - Somewhere in the south!

After spending too long working out how I was going to do this, I have now started work on getting all the points working via push-buttons on the mimic panel.
I have hinged the top of the work/control desk, and lengthened some of the wires to enable the top to be lifted (hopefully not to often). I ...

I seem to recall they were regular sites back in the early fifties. I was not far from you Howard - born and living in Muswell Hill.
A quick dirty wash Brian will soon have the level crossing looking even better.

If that's your first attempt at weathering Richard, I look forward to seeing a completed loco when you get the hang of it  A great job.

Re: WEST ORTON

Great pictures - it's these little diorama's that make a layout - the trainspotters taking photographs is a super picture - are they Modelu figures?. It also reminds me that I have about a hundred figures to paint.
