Unfortunately it is a fact of online life that if you wish to protect your name then you need multiple domains that are the same or very different. NO! It will result in the release of the magic smoke. To run DCC and DC on the same layout you need complete separation and has the potential for very expensive mistakes so not advisable. I doubt it from the instructions I've just read. However, many DC controllers have at least 2 outputs, one the DC controlled on at 12v DC and the other at 16v AC. Which power controller are you going to use to control your locos?

It's not only a good idea, it can be cheaper to buy directly. I'm only 30miles away so sometimes even pop into the little shop - and leave with more than I need!
