Hi all.
Some years ago I purchased a used Hornby live steam Mallard set for a good price.
Unfortunately I had no space to set up the track so only ran the loco occasionally on blocks.
In September I bought a "Classic" sports car so had to clear my garage for it which my younger sons had filled with ...

Re: hello from a new member
Hi welcome to the forum I hope you find it interesting.
I see you are in Northants. I will be coming down to the Depot in Weedon Bec soon to give my recently acquired classic car a run.
If you are not too far from there I could pop by and show you some scenery materials and videos of my layout to ...

Re: Reminiscing
I was born in 1948 and lived about 200 yards from the WCML where 4 tracks passed under a bridge.
I remember reading abut the LMS Turbine loco and wondered if all 4-6-2 s were turbine so only had
to walk up the road and wait a while until one came through which showed that they were not.

Re: DP2 ?
Thanks for the replies.
After a bit more digging I have the answer according to the "Railway Magazine " of Feb 2019.
The loco is Deltic D9018 Gordon Highlander which had DP2 numbers applied while undergoing restoration at Crewe diesel depot.
So no replica.
Colin.

DP2 ?
Hi all.
My brother in law brought this to my attention.
In an episode of "Train Truckers" S 1 , Ep 1 about moving Britannia from Crewe there is a glimpse of a loco numbered DP2.
This loco is supposed to have been scrapped after an accident at Thirsk where it hit a de-railed cement tanker.

Re: Train Spotting Not My Forte
In the early 60's Triang produced under the "Minic" brand a garden railway of 10.1/4" gauge.
The loco was an E5000 class electric which used to pass the Triang works apparently. There were also Pullman and toast rack coaches .

Little and Large.
First Small.
I recently bought two log wagons for my H0e layout.

The wagon next to the loco is boxed "Playcraft" and has real logs while the second is boxed "Jouef" and has plastic logs. !
Now Large ( very)

Stephenson's Rocket - water feed

According to an old book that I have and from an internet source the right hand cylinder crosshead was connected to a feedwater pump behind the cylinder of 1.25 ...
