They still got them for around £40 a coach, so not terrible considering.

I did buy 2 sets of the BR brakes + an odd one as I thought they would make a good parts donors if I didn't use them all.
I have one SR composite coach here and at another SR composite on the way, which I may renumber/decal ...

Very carefully just with a cocktail stick. They came off very easily on the Bachmann coaches. Hornby ones might be different.

But surely the OP's question is not about switching frog polarity, but maintaining electrical separation between his two ovals of track each having their own DC controller? In this scenario, you do need IRJs between the two points forming the crossover to keep the two independent power supplies ...
